Van wie was Liv Ullmann?

Liv Johanne Ullmann (Tokio, 16 december 1938) is een Noors film- en toneelactrice, filmregisseur en schrijfster. Ze was een internationale filmster en icoon van de jaren zeventig. Ullmann speelde de hoofdrol in negen films van de Zweedse regisseur Ingmar Bergman, en kreeg ook een dochter met hem, de schrijfster Linn Ullmann.

Ullmann heeft een lange reeks film- en toneelprijzen gewonnen, waaronder een Golden Globe voor beste actrice (1971) en verschillende oeuvreprijzen, onder meer van de European Film Awards (2004). Ze kreeg ook twee Oscar-nominaties voor beste actrice, voor haar rollen in Utvandrarna (1972) en Ansikte mot ansikte (1976). Ullmann werd in 1977 benoemd in de Noorse koninklijke Orde van Sint-Olaf en kreeg in 2006 een eredoctoraat van de Technisch-natuurwetenschappelijke Universiteit van Noorwegen.

Ze werd geboren in Tokio, groeide op in Trondheim (Noorwegen) en maakte haar debuut als actrice in 1957 in het toneelstuk Het dagboek van Anne Frank. Ze brak door op het witte doek met haar rol in Ingmar Bergmans Persona (1966) en speelde in een reeks andere films van Bergman, waardoor ze een internationale filmster en icoon van de jaren zeventig werd. Na een lange carrière stopte ze in 1994 met acteren, maar maakte een comeback in 2003 in de televisiefilm Saraband, de laatste film geregisseerd door Bergman.

Sinds 1992 is Ullmann ook actief als regisseur. Haar bekendste film is Faithless (2000), naar een (autobiografisch) scenario van Bergman. Ze schreef twee autobiografieën, Changing en Choices en werkt ook aan een aantal filmscenario's, waaronder een verfilming van Henrik Ibsens beroemde toneelstuk Een poppenhuis.

Ullmann was juryvoorzitter van het filmfestival van Cannes in 2001 en het internationaal filmfestival van Berlijn in 1984. Ze is ook actief geweest als ambassadeur voor UNICEF en erevoorzitter van de Women's Commission for Refugee Women and Children.

De actrice Liv Tyler is naar haar vernoemd.

Dragan Babić (3 September 1937 – 23 July 2013) was a Serbian and Yugoslav journalist.

He was born in Kruševac, Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and died in Vranje, Serbia.

His major works include the books Journey to the End of Language and You Maybe Think Different, and the documentary Like a Soap Bubble. He created several television shows including the children's show Dvogled ("Binoculars").

Ernst Ingmar Bergman (14 July 1918 – 30 July 2007) was a Swedish film and theatre director and screenwriter. He is considered one of the greatest and most important filmmakers in the history of cinema, most notably as a prominent figure of both European film industry and Swedish cinema. His films have been described as "profoundly personal meditations into the myriad struggles facing the psyche and the soul."

Among his most acclaimed works are The Seventh Seal (1957), Wild Strawberries (1957), Persona (1966) and Fanny and Alexander (1982), which were included in the 2012 edition of Sight & Sound's Greatest Films of All Time. He was also ranked No. 8 on the magazine's 2002 "Greatest Directors of All Time" list. Other notable works include Sawdust and Tinsel (1953), A Lesson in Love (1954), Smiles of a Summer Night (1955), The Virgin Spring (1960), Through a Glass Darkly (1961), Winter Light and The Silence (both 1963), Shame (1968) which was called the director's ultimate personal vision of war, Cries and Whispers (1972), Scenes from a Marriage (1973) and Autumn Sonata (1978). His films led to international acclaim and garnered Academy Award wins and nominations throughout his career, including his personal Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award and three competitive wins accepted for Best Foreign Language Film to Swedish entries.

Bergman directed more than 60 films and documentaries, most of which he also wrote, for both cinema releases and television screenings. Most of his films were set in Sweden, and many of his films from 1961 onward were filmed on the island of Fårö. He forged a creative partnership with his cinematographers Gunnar Fischer and Sven Nykvist. Bergman also had a theatrical career that included periods as Leading Director of Sweden's Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm and of Germany's Residenztheater in Munich. He directed more than 170 plays. Among his company of actors were Harriet Andersson, Bibi Andersson, Liv Ullmann, Gunnar Björnstrand, Erland Josephson, Ingrid Thulin, Gunnel Lindblom and Max von Sydow.
